Fer Cryin' Out Loud...

The blog and everything else has had to be very back-burner all year in 2011, thanks to ongoing care-giving for two 90-year-old parents with dementia and many other health issues. It is currently December, and I have just posted comments from March, which, to put it bluntly, sucks. Everything I have wanted to get more involved in this year, from joining a Women's Drumming Circle, to belly dancing with my library friends to checking out a local Morris Dancing side and attending some Pagan celebrations has basically gone down the chute, because for the better part of this year, there has been one hospital stay a month for my father, who was also recovering January-June from surgery on a hip fracture sustained at the very beginning of 2011. Right now, it's taking three family members and a hired caregiver to keep everybody safe and on their meds regimens, so it has been crazy, to say the least.

Because there are the inevitable family issues that crop up-- like one of my siblings picking fights with other family members so as to dodge both care-giving for her parents as well as making hospital visits to see her own father-- there have been a number of times this year when I have been emotionally maxed-out. I am keeping myself sane and calm by meditating, doing yoga and going for walks, writing, and doing various art projects in my spare time. The art projects also provide me with some much-needed distraction relief when I am the on-site caregiver. I am still delusional enough to think that I will be able at some point to return to more active blogging, and I have some items, both amusing and serious, that have flowed from my pens, pencils and paints this year that I would like to put out there, because yes, I am still alive and kicking.

I have also done more than my fair share of magickal shapeshifting over the last two years, and while I still retain a profound interest in all the things that Martian Tigress/Pink Lodge has covered, other seeds have sprouted as well. Because of this, what I will probably do is put up a new blog (still at Blogger) and leave the two older ones up until I've reconnected with the few folks who've been wondering where the heck I've been. Once everyone knows where the new blog is, then I'll pull down the old ones. Right now, I am shooting for April/May, right around Beltane, to start up the new Art/Writing/Magick/Weirdness emporium, and I am determined to push to make it happen, because this last year, I was pulled into so many parental health crises, I wasn't even able to follow the year's crop circle season very closely. This was also a major piece of suckitude, and I really don't want to go on losing bits and pieces of what makes my life fun simply because I'm trying to do the right thing for both my parents as they approach final relocation to the Isles of the Blessed.

I vow to take a look at comments to this blog once a month starting in February 2012, so that I can keep in closer touch prior to the April/May shapeshift, and I am working on art and written stuff to upload so the new place will be lush. Here's hoping 2012 will be far more fun and far less frantic than 2011...

Care-giving Obligations...

The blog has been inactive due to care-giving chores for 2 ailing parents, both 89 and both with some rather nasty health-issues. My time is currently divided between working and sharing full-on care-giving duties with one sister and a brother-in-law. If time permits in 2011, the blog will undergo yet another revamp, as to preserve my core energies and to keep myself sane in the midst of ongoing familial chaos, I have rebooted both my belly-dancing and some of my other artistic pursuits. I am sorry that I have had to be incommunicado for so long, but in the face of what went on all this year and last, something had to give, and it was my internet/blog-stuff that hit the wall. I am still following various anomaly-sites and am continuing to observe and meditate during 'crop circle season' each year. I am also continuing to delve into alternative healing modalities, and have been experiencing synchronicities that have been very interesting with regard to my dancing and my healing interests. They also involve what in shamanic terms would be called Spirit Guides, some of whom are the Horse-energies of my childhood and teen years, now bringing me back full circle-- or, more aptly, full spiral and on to new/renewed understanding and experiences.

Marsandro, I have posted all your previous comments to the last entry, and I'm sorry things have just been left hanging. I am hoping that 2011 will be a much more balanced year, and that I will at least be able to check in on my own blogs with some sort of semi-regularity.

My posting/user-name is also changing to my dance name: Djaninah (from Janina/Giannina, the Polish/Italian forms of my given name). Hopefully, this will not prove too inconvenient a shift for anyone still dropping by. Compared to the changes that will eventually happen to the blog, it's 'small sequins'...

The Skypeople Are Listening...

Every year, during crop circle season, many people (including myself) do meditations in an attempt to influence the symbolic content of crop circles. This year, since May, I have been meditating on a simple drawing of an owl that I sketched. My own 'Shamanic Energies' kept telling me during my meditation-sessions that 'an Owl would show up in August' as one of the crop circle patterns. On August 8th, the formation in the picture was reported over in England, at Woodborough Hill, near Alton Barnes. Needless to say, I am beside myself with glee, because it is really delightful to hear from distant friends, and to have one's meditations manifest on the physical plane in such a wonderful way. If there is anything that I think it is important for people to draw from this 'happening', it is the truth that what you experience 'in you imagination' is not simply 'just your imagination'-- it is also very real, and can have real-time effects in what we call 'consensus reality'. The Universe is far stranger than we know...

The Art of Our Foremothers...

The historical and mythological records both show that female ingenuity gave us early technology-- weaving, the bow and arrow, ovens, pottery and early metallurgy, to name several-- and now it is finally being acknowledged that it was our female ancestors who painted a large share of the paleolithic cave murals found in various places around the world. Of course, this new understanding is not being widely trumpeted-- as it actually should be-- because (the archaeologist mentioned in the article below excepted) Goddess forbid that the men of academia should ever actually acknowledge the massive contribution that female intelligence has made to the well-being and mental development of our species. Here is the entire article from the National Geographic website--

June 16, 2009--Inside France's 25,000-year-old Pech Merle cave, hand stencils surround the famed "Spotted Horses" mural.

For about as long as humans have created works of art, they've also left behind handprints. People began stenciling, painting, or chipping imprints of their hands onto rock walls at least 30,000 years ago.

Until recently, most scientists assumed these prehistoric handprints were male. But "even a superficial examination of published photos suggested to me that there were lots of female hands there," Pennsylvania State University archaeologist Dean Snow said of European cave art.

By measuring and analyzing the Pech Merle hand stencils, Snow found that many were indeed female--including those pictured here.

So first, evidence points to the high probability that the poet who composed and committed to writing the epics attributed to (a never-did-exist generic bard-fabrication called) Homer was female, and now we have female hand-prints all over cave murals in France. I know that my modern sisters and I will never receive the honest respect and full credit our sex is due, but the least that National Geographic could have done was devote more than 109 words to this important discovery.

Morphing Crop Circles

Over the last few years, we have been seeing a new kind of crop formation-- one that grows or morphs over time. Last year, we had the Swallows formation that easily doubled in size within a week, and this year we have a very interesting formation at Milk Hill (near Alton Barnes in Wiltshire) that is doing the same thing. Here is how the formation looked when it first came down last weekend--

Now, here is the same formation, as of today, June 23rd. The changes probably happened Sunday night/Monday, and are certainly major--

While I will not speculate at this point on the actual meaning(s) of the formation, I would hazard a guess that in this kind of morphing glyph, the figure is being presented in two parts in order to focus our attention on each part as a unit, as well as on the formation as a whole. Since the ratchet-pi formation occurred-- and due to the more-than-coincidental similarity between the ratchet-pi glyph and the CARET programming language-- I have been convinced that one function among the many in each crop formation is that it is a kind of earth-programming.

I also think that the morphing formations function in at least two ways: one, as a sort of primer for us, so that we can begin to understand the language, and two, as a time-phased bit of earth-programming.

I think it bears repeating once more that crop formations in general are holographic, and all have multiple meanings, so there is not 'one right answer' as to what they are communicating. Just as biological adaptations frequently serve more than one purpose in an organism, so too do crop circles 'multi-task', and one of the tasks is to teach humanity that it is time to pull its collective head out of the one-correct-way/one-correct-answer over-simplification box.

For those interested in some of the meanings being discussed with regard to this formation, I will refer you to the Crop Circle Connector website. This formation is listed on the page for the month of June, and when you click into the page for this glyph, there is a 'Comments' tab that takes you to the latest discussions of possible meanings for the formation. Both the pictures I have posted are from the Crop Circle Connector website.

Midsummer Musical Interlude--

The lady in the picture is Ms. Laima Jansone, a Latvian musician who plays the kokle, sometimes known as the Latvian Harp. She is a prodigious talent on an archaic instrument, and carries forward ancient Baltic Pagan musical traditions which have thankfully been preserved in her homeland.

My late husband was of Latvian descent (I am of Polish/Slovene heritage), and the all-too-short YouTube video of her playing out in the middle of a forest truly evokes another time and place.

It is traditional for Latvians to celebrate Midsummer (the Summer Solstice) with music, song and dance, and since Midsummer is rapidly approaching, I decided to post this as a musical Blessing for all. The YouTube link is below-- Enjoy!

For those of you with better bandwidth, here are two more links (better video and sound quality) for her over at Exposure Room. The first link is for the same piece on the YouTube video, and the second link is for a piece called 'Sounding the Trees'...

France to Disclose UFO Reality by Friday?

While perusing various alt.news digests this morning, I came across the article quoted below. It has been picked up by a number of UFO sites, and it was originally posted by Macedonia Online, the website for the Macedonian news agency, MINA. Below is a quote of most of the article, followed by the url for the article at Macedonia Online--

The words 'Nous ne sommes pas seuls' or 'We are not alone' will be somberly pronounced this week by a senior Government official of the nation that brought the world 'Liberté, égalité, fraternité'. France is set to concede that it is aware of an alien presence on earth by no later than Friday.

Paris has chosen follow the lead of maverick UFO nation Brazil and resist US pressure to continue delaying disclosure until America feels it is ready for the event.

It is believed that a telephone hot-line has been set up in Paris to deal with queries from panicky citizens. A special division of France's police department is also to be established: to handle UFO reports.

It is believed Holland and Germany are set to soon follow France's lead. //M. Cohen

Here's the url for the article--

It will be interesting to see if France actually does do a full disclosure of what they know. After years of oil cartel and military/industrial agendas hiding behind 'Brookings' skirts', the natives are getting restless...
